It’s a wise career move: 1.5 million people in the United States depend on the production, distribution, and sale of alcoholic beverage products for their livelihood, while nearly 253,000 do for the nonalcoholic beverage industry.
The alcoholic beverage industry’s economic impact is more than $253 billion, according to the American Beverage Licensees, while the American Beverage Association reports nonalcoholic beverage annual revenue of nearly $183 billion — and climbing.
Get in on this tremendous growth and make your mark with a master of science (M.S.) degree in International Beverage Management.
You’ll start by learning the ins and outs of beverage products; beverage management; current, new and emerging markets; consumer trends, and the value chain for global beverages.
Then apply this knowledge to identify and capitalize on developing trends, make effective decisions, and produce positive results in this exciting and fast-changing business marketplace. As the beverage industry expands locally, nationally and internationally, you’ll develop the skills necessary to become a beverage business leader.
The International Beverage Management program, With a mixture of courses taught on campus and online, the International Beverage Management program prepares you for the Wine & Spirits Education Trust Level 3 Award in Wines and Level 3 Award in Spirits.
After graduation, you’ll be ready to sit for the Court of Master Sommeliers’ Certified Sommelier examination and the Society of Wine Educators’ Certified Specialist of Wine examination. You will also be prepared to sit for the Level 1 (Certified Beer Server) and Level 2 (Certified Cicerone) Cicerone beer qualification examinations.
Employment is growing throughout the industry, with increased opportunities in production, marketing, advertising, public relations, administration, licensing, legal, compliance, software/technology, travel, hospitality, regulatory and tax collection, amongst others. Service providers across the industry need employees with the skills and knowledge necessary to help get products to market cost effectively.
