Bio
David Hood is currently an associate professor at JWU’s Denver Campus and is the chair of the Institutional Review Board.
Hood began his JWU teaching career in 2008, after earning a BS in Hospitality Administration and an MBA at JWU’s Providence Campus. He went on to receive an MEd in English Instruction at Rhode Island College and received his PhD at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where he studied leadership and higher education.
In addition to teaching, Hood has acted as a consultant for various organizations where he works with top leadership to strengthen business practices, and offers assistance in building strategic plans.
On the Denver Campus, he serves as a Small Business Development Consultant through the Colorado Small Business Development Center Network. Recently he left a volunteer teaching position at a Men’s Maximum Security Prison, where he taught a literature course for eligible inmates.
Originally from California, Hood now resides in Denver. Beyond his academic pursuits, he is an avid traveler and has raced in multiple full and half marathons.
