Build a thorough understanding of media through our Bachelor of Science in Media & Communications Studies degree program, and position yourself to pursue a range of careers in dynamic, ever-expanding media industries.
The curriculum covers the media landscape in global, historical, political, economic, social and cultural contexts. You'll sharpen your critical thinking skills with theories about specific media forms (film, music, television, new media, etc.), and then extend what you learn through applied coursework in media writing and digital production.
By developing the knowledge organizations need to guide the convergence of social media, TV, film, music and print to reach their audiences, you'll learn to
- write and communicate across professional media genres
- understand the structure of media industries and how media affect audiences
- apply your knowledge to help bridge gaps between organizations, businesses and media at large
You'll also build skills through related marketing, advertising, public relations and law coursework - and complete a media internship at an organization in your field of interest.
