Program Overview
Corporate accounting and financial analysis are central to any organization of any size in any industry. The ability to analyze both financial and nonfinancial information and understand what the numbers mean is key to success in any business environment. JWU Charlotte’s Corporate Accounting & Financial Analysis bachelor’s degree program includes extensive specialized accounting and finance courses, as well as courses aligned with business and general studies. These provide the business acumen to succeed in the field.
As one of only 100 programs in the U.S. endorsed by the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA), our program offers unique scholarship and leadership opportunities. With support from our experienced and well-connected accounting and finance faculty, you’ll develop the networking and interpersonal skills you need to be successful in your internship — and your career.
How JWU Prepares You for Your Future
The program is designed to prepare you for a career in Accounting. Students are responsible for checking eligibility requirements for any professional licenses such as the Certified Management Accountant Exam (CMA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license. Students who wish to pursue CPA licensure should research their state’s specific licensure requirements on the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy, as each state is unique.
You will have the opportunity to join the IMA and participate in monthly Charlotte Chapter meetings, as well as the annual National Student Leadership Conference. You’ll also have the chance to participate in events sponsored by the North Carolina Association of CPAs and other Charlotte-area professional organizations.
