Q: I have less than two semesters left of my senior year – can I still enroll in the Accelerated Master’s Program?
A: Maybe. It depends upon your undergraduate class schedule and what graduate classes are available. You should meet with your Academic Counselor/Advisor to determine if you will be able to enroll in the Accelerated Master’s program.
Q: Can I finish my graduate degree program in one year after I complete the Accelerated Master’s Program and have graduated with my bachelor’s degree?
A: Most Accelerated Master’s program students can finish their master’s degree in about 15 months. The time to completion depends upon when you begin the Accelerated program, which master’s degree you are pursuing, and how many classes you take each semester during your graduate studies. For instance, if you complete 2 Accelerated classes in the MBA, you will need 10 additional graduate classes to complete, which can be done in one year (including summer enrollment). If you opt to attend graduate school part time (one class or two classes per semester), you will require more time to complete your master’s degree.
Q: Can I take more than 3 classes per semester, to accelerate my program?
A: While in the Accelerated Master’s program, you may only take 1 graduate class per semester in addition to your regular undergraduate courses.
Q: Can I skip a semester of taking a graduate class while in the Accelerated Master’s Program?
A: Yes. However, this means you may not be able to take a graduate level class at no extra cost before you graduate. For example, if you choose to only take an MBA graduate class in the fall semester of your senior year before graduating in May, you are not entitled to another graduate class at no extra cost. Instead, you would pay regular graduate tuition rates for graduate classes following your bachelor’s graduation There are no exceptions to this policy.
FINANCIAL AID AND SCHOLARSHIPS
Q: If I take an Accelerated Master’s Program class during a summer session, will I be able to access my financial aid?
A: If you are only taking one Accelerated Master’s program class, you are NOT able to access your financial aid over the summer. If you are enrolled full time as an undergraduate student AND taking an Accelerated Master’s program class, you would be able to access your financial aid. Consult with your Financial Planner on specifics.
Q: Are scholarships available for Accelerated Master’s Program students?
A: No, Accelerated Master’s program students are not eligible for scholarships. However, the Accelerated Master’s program classes you do receive amount to a significant tuition savings.
INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS
Q: I am an international student. How does this affect my visa status or I-20?
A: Please notify International Student Services that you will be participating in the Accelerated Master’s program.
