Take a Holistic Approach to Health & Wellness

Students in the College of Health & Wellness are executing healthy meal plans prescribed by a registered dietitian, devising wellness education programs for a community and using the latest equipment and techniques to help people predict and prevent injuries to vulnerable body parts. From preparing dishes that are nutritious and delicious to collaborating with faculty to present health science research at national conferences, you’ll be immersed in the health and wellness world at JWU Charlotte.

Health & Wellness Programs

Undergraduate Majors

Get started with your choice of two major programs: Health Science or Public Health. Already have a bachelor’s degree but want a career change? You could be an ideal candidate for JWU’s Accelerated Second Degree in Nursing (ABSN) program!

Minors

Deepen your knowledge in a related health & wellness field to broaden what you can do with your degree. Complement your major with a minor in Nutrition or Public Health to better understand the complex relationship between food and health. 

Gain Expertise in Authentic Settings

In JWU’s state-of-the-art science labs, you’ll conduct experiments and research to advance the field of health and wellness. You can also participate in a local internship or Directed Experiential Education (DEE)  where you’ll work on a project for an industry partner for class credit. Charlotte serves as a home to some of the top healthcare providers including Atrium Health and Novant Health, as well as one of only a few level-one trauma centers in the state.
