JWU Names Jennifer Galipeau Dean of the College of Hospitality Management

PROVIDENCE, R.I. — June 24, 2024 – Johnson & Wales University is pleased to announce that Jennifer Adams Galipeau ’88, ’92 MS, Ed.D. has been named the Dean of the College of Hospitality Management (COHM), effective immediately. Dean Galipeau will also continue to serve as associate provost. 

An alumna of Johnson & Wales University, Galipeau began her professional career at JWU as the director of hotel internship before joining the COHM faculty in 1993. She served as a faculty member teaching in both Food & Beverage Management and the Sports, Entertainment & Event Management (SEEM) departments until 2013, when she was appointed as the university’s first director of outcome assessment. In the intervening years, Galipeau was promoted to Assistant Provost and then Associate Provost of Academic Affairs. In 2021, Galipeau became interim dean of the College of Hospitality Management. 

“Dean Galipeau is the right individual to lead the college at this time, given her deep understanding of JWU’s organizational culture, values, strategic goals and her strong connections with industry,” said Provost Richard Wiscott, Ph.D. “Jenn’s proven track record of success as interim dean of COHM, familiarity with our operations, her unwavering commitment to student success and established relationships within the JWU community uniquely position her to lead the college forward.”
